COMMANDER'S INSPECTION AT SLAF STATION WEERAWILA

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, conducted the Annual Commander's Inspection at SLAF Station Weerawila today (02 November 2024). The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Weerawila, Group Captain Suresh Jayasinghe. During the Parade, following airmen were awarded with the certificates of commendation by the Commander of the Air Force in appreciation of their exceptional contributions towards the organization.

During the full-day inspection, the Commander visited Station Headquarters, Supply Section, ATC Tower, Fire Section, Armory, MT Section, No.41 Regt Wing, MI Room, Airwomen Billet, Welfare Shop, Sports Section, Airmen Living in Billet, Corporals’ Club, Peacock Transit Rooms, WOs’& SNCOs’ Mess, Officers’ Mess, Main Guard Room, Eagle’s Café Restaurant, Welfare Filling Station, Pre-School, No.03 Air Defence and Radar Squadron, VVIP Lounge, Airmen’s & Airwomen’s Social Club, Airmen’s & Airwomen’s Mess, Airmen’s and Airwomen’s and Ex Servicemen’s Holiday Homes at Wadasitikanda and Lake View Chalet Officers’ Holiday Home at Sellakatharagama.
The Commander addressed all ranks and civilian employees at the UAV Hangar, highlighting the importance of maintaining excellence in service amidst planned downsizing in personnel strength. He emphasized that every member must continue to fulfill their duties with exceptional professionalism, adhering to established standards and demonstrating a high level of personal commitment.
In his speech, the Commander emphasized the vital role of integrity, characterized by honesty and loyalty to the organization as foundational to maintaining trust. He also highlighted the importance of personal discipline and a balanced approach to service and life for all members, while highlighting the collective responsibility of the organization to uphold a high standard of discipline and respect for established legal frameworks.
The Commander concluded by extending his gratitude to all service personnel and civilian employees for their steadfast dedication to upholding the standards of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
