SLAF STATION PALAVI CELEBRATED 17TH ANNIVERSARY

SLAF Station Palavi celebrated its 17th anniversary on 1 November 2024 with a series of events, beginning with the traditional ‘Katina Pooja' at the Kandayaya Temple on 31 October 2024. As part of the ceremony, the sacred ‘Katina’ robe was carried in a graceful procession to SLAF Station Palavi, where it was ceremoniously placed at the station headquarters. The Chief Incumbent of Kandayaya Temple led a religious session at the station premises that evening, fostering a solemn atmosphere of reverence and reflection.
On the following day, an almsgiving was held at the Kandayaya Temple, where offerings were presented to the venerable Maha Sangha.
The anniversary celebrations culminated today (04 November 2024) with a tree-planting programme. This event saw the participation of officials from the Puttalam Forest Department, the Commanding Officer, officers and all ranks, highlighting dedication to community and ecological conservation.
