RETIRED SLAF WARRANT OFFICER HONOURED BY COMMANDER OF THE AIR FORCE FOR EXEMPLARY INTEGRITY

Retired  Warrant Officer RU Senevirathne of the Sri Lanka Air Force was recognized by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa today (04 November 2024) at Air Force Headquarters for his exemplary integrity, an incident that recently made a significant attention in the print media.

Retired Warrant Officer Senevirathne, an Air Radio Technician who retired from the Air Force on 23 April 2009, found and safely returned a wallet containing over 1.5 million rupees. He was lauded for upholding the values of honesty and responsibility, making the Air Force proud. The story of his noble deed, which involved coordinating with local police to return the lost wallet to its owner, was widely published in newspapers, highlighting his actions as a model of civic duty and honour.
