SECOND FLIGHT SAFETY WORKSHOP FOR NCOS FOR THE YEAR 2024

The 19th consecutive Flight Safety Workshop for Non Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and the 2nd batch for the year 2024 was successfully concluded at the Air Force Museum Auditorium, SLAF Base Ratmalana. The workshop was conducted from 18 to 22 November 2024, with 34 NCOs representing all Directorates participating in this workshop. This 5-day workshop covered the main flight safety areas such as Safety Management Systems, Aviation Physiology and Psychology, Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard, Aircraft Accident Investigation, Material Factor, Human Factors, Aircraft Fire Fighting and Aspects of Air Traffic Services. All lectures were conducted by a panel of qualified and experienced Officers.

The opening address was delivered by Wing Commander MBGT Dias on behalf of the Director Flight Safety. The certificate awarding ceremony was conducted today (22 November 2024) with the presence of the Flight Safety Inspector (Fixed Wing), Wing Commander MBGT Dias and Flight Safety Inspector (Air Traffic Controlling), Squadron Leader WDLPA Silva.
