INTER UNIT SWIMMING AND WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIPS - 2024

The 52nd Inter Unit Swimming Championship and the 21st Water Polo Championship 2024, organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force Aquatic Sports Pool, were successfully held from 25 to 28 November 2024 at the Aquatic Sports Complex, SLAF Base Ratmalana. The awards ceremony was graced by the presence of the Director General Planning, Air Vice Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, as the Chief Guest.
In the Swimming Women’s Category, SLAF Base Hingurakgoda emerged as the overall champions, while in the Men’s Category, SLAF Academy China Bay secured the overall championship. The SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa was the runner-up in the Men’s category, whereas SLAF Academy China Bay claimed the Runner-up position in the Women’s category.
In the Water Polo Women’s Category, SLAF Base Hingurakgoda once again secured the overall championship, with SLAF Academy China Bay achieving the same in the Men’s category. Further, SLAF Base Anuradhapura emerged as the Runners-Up in both the Men’s and Women’s Water Polo categories.
The awards ceremony was attended by the Chairman of SLAF Swimming and Water Polo, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, the Base Commander of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, Air Commodore Dinesh Jayaweera and other distinguished invitees.
