The Change of Command at General  Engineering  Wing (GEW) SLAF Base Katunayake, was held yesterday (02 December 2024). The traditional handing over /taking over parade was conducted at the wing premises. The Commanding Officer, Group Captain MS Kumarage USP, BSc, (Def Stu) handed over the Command to Group Captain DGTS Edirisinghe psc.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain DGTS Edirisinghe previously held the appointment of Commanding Officer at Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing - SLAF Base Katunayake, before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of General Engineering  Wing (GEW).
