SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT FELICITATES OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS AND RECEIVES GENEROUS DONATION FROM HUTCH SRI LANKA

The felicitation ceremony recognizing outstanding achievements in the G.C.E. Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Examinations was held today (05 December 2024) at the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters in Sri Jayewardenepura. The event was graced by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, as the Chief Guest, along with the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa.
A total of 30 students who achieved 9 A passes in the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination (out of 33 eligible candidates) and six students who attained 3 A passes in the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination were felicitated during the ceremony. Each exceptional performer was awarded cash prizes of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000 for the Ordinary Level and Advanced Level categories, respectively. Additionally, cash gifts were deposited into the personal accounts of students who were unable to attend the event.
In conjunction with the ceremony, Hutchison Telecommunications (Pvt) Ltd (HUTCH) extended their support by donating ten e-bicycles to the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit for distribution among deserving personnel. The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Saumitra Gupta and other senior officials from Hutch Sri Lanka were present to make this generous contribution.
The event was attended by the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, members of the Air Force Board of Management and their spouses, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, senior officers, members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, parents, students and a cross-section of officers and other ranks from SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura.
