The Change of Command of SLAF Station Mirigama was held on 04 December 2024 at the Station premises. The handing over/taking over parade was conducted at the Station sports ground where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain DSC Fernando RSP and two Bars, USP, Pg Dip (LRHRM) handed over the command to Group Captain MHMTCK Bandara MSc (Def. & Strat Stu),psc.

Group Captain DSC Fernando will be proceeding to Air Force Headquarters, where he will be assuming duties as the acting Director Capital Welfare Projects.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain MHMTCK Bandara previously held the appointment of Staff Officer Doctrine and Training Development at Directorate of Planning, Air Force Headquarters before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Mirigama.
