The 4th Formation day of SLAF Unit Mirigama was commemorated on 1st June 2011 under the leadership of the Commanding Officer Gp Capt HBDJ Karunaratna. The officers, other ranks and civil workers of SLAF Unit Mirigama attended various activities over the period of past few days to mark the 4th Anniversary of the Unit.

    The first activity was the medical clinic on 25th May 2011, organized to provide free medical treatment to civilians in the area. On the formation day a parade was held in the morning and an over night Pirith Chanting Ceremony was organized in the evening followed by  a “Heel Dana” .

    Further, a Shramadana campaign at the  Base Hospital Mirigama and an all ranks sports event was held on the 3rd of June and will continue on the 7th of June as well.
