AIR COMMODORE VAJIRA SENADHEERA AWARDED BEST INDIVIDUAL RESEARCH PROJECT AT NDC, BANGLADESH

Air Commodore Vajira Senadheera of the SLAF successfully completed the National Defence Course (NDC) 2024 at the National Defence College in Mirpur, Bangladesh, from 10 January to 5 December 2024. The course was attended by 62 officers from the Bangladesh Armed Forces and 33 military officers representing 18 friendly foreign nations.
As part of the course, participants also undertook the Master of Social Science in Security and Development program conducted by the Bangladesh University of Professionals. A significant component of the curriculum was the completion of an individual research project comprising 15,000 words, with the best research projects selected under two categories for local and foreign course members.
Air Commodore Senadheera’s research, titled “Implications of Chemical Fertilizer Ban 2021 on National and Food Security: Strategic Insights for Bangladesh,” was adjudged the Best Individual Research Project among the 33 foreign military officers.

Air Commodore Senadheera was also a recepient of prestigious Golden Pen and Golden Owl awards at DSCSC Sapugaskanda Course No. 05 in year 2011.
Upon his return, Air Commodore Vajira Senadheera called on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, at SLAF Headquarters on 10 December 2024. During the meeting, the Commander congratulated him for his remarkable achievement.
