The SLAF Archery Teams delivered a historic performance at the 13th Defence Archery Championship 2024, held today (18 December 2024) at the Athletic Ground, SLAF Base Katunayake. In a remarkable display of skill, dedication and teamwork, the SLAF clinched both the Men’s and Women’s Championship titles, marking a new milestone in the archery achievements.

The awards ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Director General Logistics, Air Vice Marshal Deepal Munasinghe. Also in attendance were the Chairman of SLAF Archery, Air Commodore Priyamal Fernando, Director Sports, Group Captain Suresh Jayasinghe, the Secretary of SLAF Archery, Wing Commander RAMPR Dasanayake and other senior officers from the tri-services.

The SLAF Women’s Archery Team displayed an outstanding talent, securing two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Complementing this success, the SLAF Men’s Archery Team claimed the Men’s Championship with two gold and one silver medal. Additionally, in the Mixed Events, the SLAF Archery Team won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
