The Change of Command at No.49 Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosive Wing (No.49 CBRNE Wing) SLAF Base Katunayake, took place today (19 December 2024). The traditional handing over /taking over parade was conducted at the wing premises. The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain NP Perera RWP handed over the Command to Wing Commander ADR Wickramarathne RSP, USP, BSc (Mgt), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), MSc (Def & Strat Stu) psc.

Group Captain NP Perera will be proceeding to SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport as the Commanding Officer.

The new Commanding Officer, Wing Commander ADR Wickramarathne previously held the appointment of Officer Commanding at SLAF Dettachement Mattala, before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of No.49 CBRNE Wing.
