SLAF WOMEN’S TEAM SECURES CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AT THE MUNCHEE SUPER LEAGUE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT 2024

The SLAF Women’s Volleyball Team triumphed at the prestigious Munchee Super League Volleyball Championship 2024, held today (04 January 2025) at the Sir Albert F Peiris Indoor Stadium, Wennappuwa. This highly competitive tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, featured seven women’s teams from across the country.
In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, the SLAF Women’s team emerged victorious over the Sri Lanka Ports Authority team. The match concluded with the SLAF securing three sets with scores of 25-12, 25-20, 14-25 and 25-29. Leading Aircraftwoman Ranasinghe RMAGCG was recognized for her exceptional performance and was awarded the title of the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament.
The occasion was attended by the Chairman of SLAF Volleyball, Group Captain Chrishantha Fernando and the Secretary, Assistant Secretaries, Team Manager and Coach.
The awards ceremony was graced by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Sugath Thilakarathne and the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, Mr. AS Nalaka, who presented the trophies and accolades, adding prestige to the event.
