Leaders in the making
As part of the initiative taken by the Ministry of Higher Education to
provide University entrants with leadership training , Sri Lanka Air

program embraces physical training , under the theme sound
bodies build sound minds, drill - to inculcate the value of
working to one command and to follow orders, lectures on the law of the
land - to make them understand the path they should walk stay on, self
hygiene and first aid – essential in any walk of life, history to help
self discover, customs, ethics and norms of society to help face future
environments and most importantly leadership development activities as
well as games to mould talented leaders.
The
Minister of Higher Education S. B. Dissanayaka paid a visit to SLAF
Diyatalawa on 7th June 2011 to review the training being conducted and
spent a few hours chatting to the students after formally addressing
them.
The entire training is being carried out
under the guidance of the Station Commanding Officer Group Captain
Janaka Amarasinghe who has been well supported by Squadron Leader
Kanishka Jayasekara and Squadron Leader Chandana Munasinghe with the
assistance of other Officers and the other ranks of SLAF Station
