PASSING OUT PARADE OF THE NO. 173-B REGULAR AIRMEN, NO. 43-B REGULAR AIRWOMEN AND NO. 135-B VOLUNTEER AIRMEN AND NO. 17-B VOLUNTEER AIRWOMEN RECRUIT COURSES

The SLAF Regiment Training Centre, Ampara hosted the Passing Out Parade for the No. 173-B Regular Airmen’s, No. 43-B Regular Airwomen’s and No. 135-B Volunteer Airmen’s and No. Volunteer 17-B Airwomen’s Recruit Courses today (24 January 2025)
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Chaminda Wickremaratne, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Commanding Officer of the SLAF Regiment Training Centre Ampara, Group Captain Lalith Sugathadasa, senior officers and invitees from the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Police were also present at the occasion. The parade was commanded by Wing Commander Kosala Ovitipana.
A total of 202 Airmen and Airwomen successfully completed their Basic Combat Training at the SLAF Regiment Training Centre Ampara. The Chief Guest addressed the new entrants during the parade and congratulated them on successfully completing the Basic Ground Combat Training. Further, he highlighted the significance of their role in contributing to the nation’s defence and security.
The passing out parade was followed by a colourful band display performed by the Air Force Band. A drill display and unarmed combat display were performed by the passed out trainees, which was witnessed by the families of the trainees' and well-wishers of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
