SLAF STATION BIA CELEBRATES 27TH ANNIVERSARY

The Sri Lanka Air Force Station at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) marked its 27th anniversary today (26 January 2025), with a series of meaningful events. The celebrations commenced with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Nilendra Perera.

In line with the anniversary, several community-oriented initiatives were conducted. On 25 January 2025, a Beach Cleanup was organized at Lewis Place Beach, Negombo, as part of the Government’s "Clean Sri Lanka" concept. Additionally, the Station Seva Vanitha Unit arranged a motivational lecture for the station’s airwomen on 24 January 2025, delivered by Mrs. Ama Dissanayake. Furthermore, Shramadana campaigns were held on 23 January 2025 at two temples and a church in the Andiambalama area, with the active participation of service personnel from the station.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
