
GRAND OPENING OF ‘EAGLES' SKY VIEW ' WELFARE AMENITIES COMPLEX ENHANCES QUALITY OF LIFE FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL

A significant milestone was achieved today (27 January 2025) as the Eagles' Sky View Welfare Amenities Complex at the Defence Headquarters Complex (DHQC), Sri Jayewardenepura, was officially declared open under the auspices of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa. The momentous occasion was attended by the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickremaratne, members of the Air Force Board of Management, the Director of Project Management Unit, Air Vice Marshal Rohan Pathirage (Retd), the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, Air Commodore Manoj Galappaththi, a cross section of SLAF personnel representing all the ranks and the interior design architects of the ‘Sky Mart', the welfare shop housed within the complex.
This state-of-the-art facility, designed and constructed by the Directorate of Construction Engineering, spans 40 perches of land in Thalangama South and was completed in just six months.
The Eagles' Sky View complex is designed to cater to the diverse needs of tri-service personnel. The ‘Sky Mart' provides essential goods and daily necessities, ensuring that personnel have easy access to what they require for their day-to-day lives. The Eagles' Reserve’ offers a range of services facilitated through collaborations with external organizations, meeting additional needs efficiently. For relaxation and fostering camaraderie, the ‘Sky Lounge' serves as a tranquil space where individuals can unwind and engage in recreational activities. A dedicated laundry facility within the complex ensures convenience for service members with demanding schedules. At the top, ‘The Flight Deck’ provides a picturesque setting for social gatherings and enjoying scenic views, making it a perfect space for meaningful interactions and relaxation.
The opening of the ‘Eagles' Sky View' complex marks a pivotal step toward improving the quality of life for military personnel.
