SLAF Ekala emerged dual champions in the Inter Unit Hockey Tournament for the year 2011 which was held on 05th June 2011 at SLAF Station Ekala.

 At the final encounter Ekala team secured the 2011 Championship for the fourth consecutive year in both categories of 7 a side & 11 a side beating No26 Regiment Wing and SLAF Base Anuradhapura respectively.

The event was graced by the President Sri Lanka Hockey Federation SSP Sumith Edirisinghe whilst Director General Engineering Air Vice Marshal BLW Balasooriya, Chairman SLAF Hockey Air Vice Marshal KVB Jayampathy,  Command Sports Officer Air Commodore OFHV Fernando, Commanding Officer SLAF Ekala Group Captain LD Gunawardana and many others were also present.
