The Sri Lanka Air Force Netball Team became Champions at the 13th Defence Services Netball Championship 2024/25 which successfully concluded yesterday (07 February 2025) at the Air Force Health Management Center, Colombo.

The tournament commenced on 05 February 2025 in the form of a league tournament. Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Army competed in the first match and Sri Lanka Air Force won with a score of 67 to 51. The second day saw the Sri Lanka Army taking on the Sri Lanka Navy, with the Army taking the lead with a score of 68 to 59.

The third and final match was between Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force called the tournament to a close, scoring 59 against Navy’s total of 55.

The closing ceremony was held with the gracious presence of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance was the Chairperson SLAF Netball, Air Commodore Sureka Dias, Air Force Director Sports, Air Commodore Suresh Jayasinghe, Secretary Air Force Sports Council, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, senior officers of Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Navy.
