SLAF PERSONNEL SUCCESSFULLY DOUSE BUSHFIRE IN DIYATALAWA

In response to a request from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) in Badulla, the Disaster Assistance and Response Team (DART) and  personnel from the SLAF Combat Training School in Diyatalawa, comprising one officer and eight airmen, successfully doused a large-scale bushfire in the Pahala Kadurugamuwa forest area in Diyatalawa today (10 February 2025).

The Disaster Management Centre in Badulla provided information regarding the fire in the morning, following which, under the directives of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, the officers and airmen were promptly deployed to the affected area. Their swift and coordinated efforts enabled them to bring the fire under control within six hours, preventing further spread and minimizing potential damage.
