The SLAF Ladies’ Golf Team emerged as Champions, while the Men’s Golf Team secured the Runner-up position at the 13th Defence Services Golf Tournament, which was held today (11 February 2025) at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, Nuwara Eliya.

This year’s tournament was hosted by the Sri Lanka Army, with the Security Forces (West) Commander and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Golf Club, Major General AHLG Amarapala, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by the Chairman of Sri Lanka Air Force Golf, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekera, along with SLAF golf enthusiasts and other distinguished guests.

The tournament was conducted under three main categories: Team Championship, Open Championship and Over-45 Championship, with the participation of golfers from the Sri Lanka Army, Navy and Air Force. Group Captain Prabath Wijekoon claimed victory in the Defence Services Open Golf event, while Leading Aircraftman GHS Priyadarshana was awarded the title of ‘Best Player', securing the highest marks in Men's category.
