SLAF COMBAT TRAINING SCHOOL DIYATALAWA ASSISTS TO DOUSE THE FOREST FIRE ELLA ROCK MOUNTAIN

In response to a request from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) in Badulla, the Disaster Assistance and Response Team (DART), along with additional personnel from the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, successfully contained a large-scale bushfire in the Ella Rock mountain forest area yesterday (13 February 2025).

The firefighting team, comprising one officer and 16 airmen, was promptly deployed following information received from the DMC in the morning. Acting under the directives of the Commanding Officer of the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, they swiftly proceeded to the affected location. Through dedicated and strenuous efforts, the team effectively brought the fire under control, preventing further spread and minimizing potential damage.
