In keeping with tradition, the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, paid homage to the Sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura today (15 February 2025), seeking blessings on his new appointment. During this visit, he also worshiped at the Ruwanweli Maha Seya and called on the Atamasthandhipathi, the Chief Sanghanayake of Nuwara Kalaviya and Chief Incumbent of Ruwanweli Maha Seya, Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Nayaka Thero, to receive blessings.

Continuing his religious observances, the Commander visited the Sacred Ruwanweli Seya, where he sought blessings from the Chancellor of Rajarata University and Chief Incumbent of Mirisawetiya Vihara, Venerable Ethalawetunawewa Gnanatilake Thera.

Concluding his pilgrimage at Anuradapura, Air Marshal Edirisinghe paid homage to the historic Isurumuniya temple, where he received blessings from the Chief Incumbent of the Isurumuni Rajamaha Viharaya, the Chief Sanghanayake of the Malwathu Chapter, Venerable Sri Sangharakkhita Sumangala Nayaka Thero.

The occasion was attended by the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, Base Commander SLAF Base Anuradapura, Air Commodore Poojana Gunetileke and other representatives from the Air Force.
