‘CLEAN SRI LANKA' WORKSHOP COMMENCES TO TRAIN TRI-FORCES AND POLICE TRAINERS

A two-day workshop to train 150 selected members of the Tri-Forces and Sri Lanka Police as trainers for the “Clean Sri Lanka” program commenced today (18 February 2025) at the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regimental Center in Panagoda. The Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake attended as the chief guest. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, also attended the programme.

Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyakontha (Retd) welcomed the participants, emphasizing the program’s role in promoting governance, social, environmental and economic sustainability.

The workshop featured key speakers, including Senior Additional Secretary to the President Kapila Gunaratne, Professor Turney Pradeep Kumara, Chinthaka Rajakaruna, Kelum Jayaweera and Ajith Jayasundara, addressing various aspects of the program. The second day includes sessions by SSP Lanka Amarasinghe on Women and Child Protection Law and Major General Sajith Liyanage on Public Officers’ Responsibility and Accountability.

The event was attended by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, Additional Secretary to the President, Director (Ethics) of the “Clean Sri Lanka” programme and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence, Tri-Forces and Police.
