Firefighters from SLAF Station Weerawila promptly responded to a request for assistance from the Police Emergency Response Unit in Thissamaharama, seeking immediate firefighting support to extinguish a fire that had broken out at the Vocational Training Centre (VTC) of Thissamaharama Raja Maha Viharaya during the early hours yesterday (18 February 2025).

Upon receiving the request, SLAF Station Weerawila swiftly deployed a fire vehicle accompanied by a water bowser and a team of three firefighters to the scene. Under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Weerawila, the team successfully brought the fire under control.
