EAGLES’ CATALINA MONTHLY MEDAL GOLF FEBRUARY EDITION CONCLUDES WITH OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES

The fourth iteration of the Eagles’ Catalina Monthly Medal Golf Tournament, concluded successfully yesterday (23 February 2025) at the Eagles’ Catalina Golf Course in Koggala. This prestigious event, which has quickly established itself as a highlight in Sri Lanka’s golfing calendar, attracted many participants competing for top honours.
The tournament saw exceptional performances across both Ladies' and Gents' divisions. Ms. Niloo Jayathilake and Mr. Shirley Corea secured awards for the Longest Drive in their respective categories.
In the Gross Score competition, Ms. Thiru Jesudasan was named Runner-Up in the Women’s category, while Squadron Leader Asela De Silva earned the same in the Men’s division. In the Net Score competition, Ms. Niloo Jayathilake and Wing Commander Lakmal Gunawardena (Retd) were the Runners-Up in the Women’s and Men’s categories, respectively.
Ms. Niloo Jayathilake and Wing Commander Lakmal Gunawardena (Retd) succeeded in the Gross Score category for the Ladies’ and Gents’ divisions. The coveted Eagles’ Catalina Monthly Medal for February was awarded to Ms. Dilini Hennayake in the Women’s division and Group Captain Chrishantha Fernando in the Men’s division, both securing the Winner Net Score titles.
The awards were presented during a ceremony in the afternoon, attended by Chairman Air Force Golf, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekera, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Koggala, Group Captain Priyadarshana Hettiarachchi and other SLAF officials.
The event concluded on a high note, with participants eagerly looking forward to future editions of the Eagles’ Catalina Medal Golf Tournament.
