DEFENCE SECRETARY CHAIRS MEETING ON PROPOSED SL AIR FORCE HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION

A special meeting on the proposed Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) hospital construction project was held on  07 March 2025 at the Defence Ministry, chaired by Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd).

Air Force Commander Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, senior officials from the Defence Ministry, representatives from several state entities, and local government officials participated in the discussion.

The meeting focused on the planning and implementation of the proposed hospital, which aims to enhance medical facilities for SLAF personnel and their families. Several important topics including infrastructure development, financial considerations, and coordination between relevant government bodies and line agencies to ensure the project’s timely execution were taken up for discussion at the meeting.

The Defence Secretary emphasized the hospital's importance in strengthening healthcare services within the Air Force and urged all stakeholders to collaborate effectively to complete the project successfully.
