The No.02 Air Defence Radar Squadron at SLAF Base Vavuniya celebrated its 19th anniversary today,(10 March 2025). The squadron was originally established on 10 March 2006 with the Indra MK -11 radar system. The Formation Day proceedings commenced with a parade, which was observed by the Commanding Officer Squadron Leader JAK Jayawickrama.

A service day initiative was conducted on 26 February 2025,at Kudakachchiya Primary School to clean the school premises and renovate sanitary and plumbing facilities to improve the environment for the children. Additionally, lunch was provided to the school children and stationery items were distributed among them.
