The Change of Command of SLAF Base Ratmalana was held yesterday (18 March 2025). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over parade was conducted at the Base, where the outgoing Base Commander Air Commodore AV Jayasekera WWV and Bar, RWP, RSP and two bar, USP, fawc (Pak), psc, qfi. handed over the command to Air Commodore JMDRAP Jayamaha USP, ndc, psc, qfi. Air Commodore AV Jayasekera will be proceeding to SLAF Base Katunayake, where he will be assuming duties as the Base Commander.

The new Base Commander, Air Commodore JMDRAP Jayamaha, assumed office after completion of the traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade. The new Base Commander, Air Commodore Jayamaha had successfully completed his tenure as the Senior Directing Staff at the National Defence College in Sri Lanka before being appointed to command SLAF Base Ratmalana.
