CHANGE OF COMMAND AT SLAF BASE KATUNAYAKE
The Change of Command at SLAF Base Katunayake was held today (20 March 2025). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over parade was conducted at the Base, where the outgoing Base Commander Air Vice Marshal NHDN Dias WWV and Bar, RSP and Bar, USP, MDS, Pg, Dip (IR), ndc, psc, qhi handed over the command to Air Commodore AV JAYASEKERA WWV and Bar, RWP, RSP and two bars, USP, MSc (Sec & Strat Std), MSSD, fawc(Pak), ndc (Ban), psc, qfi. Air Vice Marshal Dias will be proceeding to Air Force Headquarters, where he will be assuming duties as the Director General Training.
The new Base Commander, Air Commodore AV Jayasekara, assumed office after completion of the traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade. The new Base Commander, previously held the appointment of Base Commander at SLAF Base Ratmalana before being appointed to command SLAF Base Katunayake.
