The Change of Command at No. 02 Supply & Maintenance Depot (S&MD) at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda was taken place today (25 March 2025). The traditional handing over taking over parade was conducted at the Depot Parade Square, where the Acting Commanding Officer, Wing Commander WP Gunawardhana handed over the command to Group Captain LS Jayaweera USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), B Com (Def Stu) Hons, Pg Dip (Def Mgt), MIM (SL), MISMM, psc, XF.

The new Commanding Officer previously held the position of Assistant Director of Project Management Unit at the Directorate of Special Project Management Unit in Air Force Headquarters.
