A specialized training workshop for the serving staff of SLAF welfare shops was successfully conducted yesterday (31 March 2025) at the Skymart Welfare Supermarket premises in Sri Jayewardenepura. The workshop was organized by the Directorate of Welfare in collaboration with Unilever Plc.

Staff members representing Skymart, Sri Jayewardenepura, SLAF Guwanpura, and the Unit Welfare Shop in Colombo received comprehensive training from the Unilever Extension Team. The sessions covered key areas such as polite customer service, product sales promotion, complaint resolution, scientific rack management, and proper stock maintenance.

The program was conducted by Mr. Saman Priyaratne, National Channel Manager and Mr. Kavishka Jayawardena, Area Sales Executive from Unilever Plc. This valuable initiative was successfully coordinated under the guidance of the Director General of Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Thushara Sirimanna and the Director of Agriculture & Welfare Projects, Air Commodore Erandika Gunawardena.

The Skymart Welfare Supermarket serves for the Tri-Services and the Ministry of Defence  personnel, stationed at the Defence Services Headquarters.
