COMMANDER CONDUCTS FIRST INSPECTION AT NEWLY ESTABLISHED SLAF DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING SCHOOL, DIGANA

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection at SLAF Disaster Management Training School Digana today (09 April 2025). Notably, this marks the first official inspection by the Commander following the elevation of the Digana Detachment into a fully fledged, separate SLAF establishment. The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Lakmal Jayathilaka, where a ceremonial street line was accorded upon his arrival.

During the course of the inspection, the Commander declared open the newly constructed Training Wing Complex at Disaster Management Training School and  visited all areas of the School and joined a cross-section of officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff at the Airmen's Mess during  All-Ranks Refreshment.

Following the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks of the school. In his remarks, he underscored the paramount importance of discipline among service personnel, emphasizing the need to uphold discipline at all levels without compromise. He further instructed all members to maintain the highest professional standards in every aspect of their duties. In addition, the Commander drew attention to the ongoing projects under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, encouraging active participation and reaffirming the Air Force’s continued commitment to national development.
