
SLAF COMPÈRES REFINE HOSTING SKILLS AT SLBC TRAINING WORKSHOP

The Media Division of the SLAF organized a comprehensive five-day workshop with the objective of enhancing the skills of in-house compères. The training program was conducted at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), a leading institution renowned for its pioneering role in compère training in Sri Lanka.
The workshop was conducted under the expert guidance of the Director of Training and International Relations, Mr. Indika Jayarathna, with the participation of Assistant Director of Training, Honorary Lieutenant Colonel Thushari Welagedara alongside a team of award-winning and experienced emcees. Their collective expertise provided participants with valuable knowledge and practical insights into the art of professional event hosting.
The final session of the workshop, held at SLBC, was graced by Mr. Indika Jayarathna as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance were Staff Officer Service Information of the Media Division, Squadron Leader Nilanga Gunerathne and officials from the SLBC.
This program marked the fourth occasion on which SLAF compères received formal training in event hosting at SLBC. A carefully selected group of 13 participants, consisting of officers and other ranks, was chosen for the course based on the results of an aptitude test assessed by a selection board appointed by the Director General Training.
