The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No. 25 English Medium and No. 96 Sinhala Medium Non-Commissioned Officers' Management Courses was held on today (10 April 2025) at the Astra Hall SLAF Academy China Bay under the patronage of the Director General Aeronautical Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Gihan Senevirathne as the Chief Guest. The Commandant of the Academy Air Commodore Amal Perera, Director Academic Studies Air Commodore Duleep Hewavitharana and all Formation Commanders, Senior Officers of the Academy also participated for the event. The Commanding Officer of the Non Commissioned Officers’ Management School, Wing Commander Akhila De Alwis welcomed all gathered invitees.  

The core purpose behind this 14 week long course is to groom Non-Commissioned Officers of the Tri Forces with robust academic sense, efficient managerial skills and sharp leadership traits. Affiliated with the University of Rajarata, the course culminated in the awarding of Diploma in Management to eligible Non-Commissioned Officers.

The No. 25 English Medium and No. 96 Sinhala Medium comprised 73 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and 66 Junior Non-Commissioned Officers from the SLAF, one Junior Non-Commissioned Officer from the SL Army, three Senior Non-Commissioned Officer from the SL Navy. At the ceremony, 143 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of the courses.

Sergeant Wickraarachchi WAMP and Corporal Rajapaksha SW were recognized as the Best All-Rounders among the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and Junior Non-Commissioned Officers of the No. 25 English Medium course. Meanwhile, Sergeant Bandara ABWM and Corporal Perera KWRSH earned well-deserved awards as the Best All-Round Senior Non-Commissioned Officer and Junior Non-Commissioned Officer respectively in the No. 96 Sinhala Medium Course.

In addition to these outstanding achievers, the ceremony also celebrated a host of other special award winners, each contributing their unique strengths to the success of the courses.
