A four-member team from the SLAF participated in the 07th SSC Open International Rating Blitz Chess Championship 2025, which took place from 30 April to 06 May 2025 at the Grand Rockland Hotel in Matara.

After completing ten rounds of Blitz Chess, the SLAF team secured the Championship title in the Mercantile category.

The awards ceremony was held today (06 May 2025) at the tournament venue, in the presence of Chief Arbiter, Mr. Wajira Gunasinghe and Deputy Chief Arbiter, Mr. Niroshan Chathuranga.

The tournament was organized by the SSC International Chess Academy.
