The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe paid his final respects today (11 May 2025) to three courageous servicemen who lost their lives in the recent Bell 212 helicopter crash at the Maduru Oya reservoir. The solemn ceremonies were held with full military honours to honour Corporal Methruwan RMM, Flight Sergeant Udaya Kumara WMS and Corporal Lakmal Perera of the Sri Lanka Army Special Forces.

These brave individuals were engaged in operational duties when the tragic incident occurred.
