
COMMANDER'S INSPECTION AT SLAF STATION BATTICALOA

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Annual Commander's Inspection at SLAF Station Batticaloa on yesterday (17 May 2025).
The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Sarath Bandara, where the Commander was accorded a Street Line.
During the course of inspection, the Commander visited the Station Headquarters, Main Guard room, Welfare Shop Complex, Pre School, "Lagoon Breeze" Officers' Holiday Home, MT Section, WOs' & SNCOs' Mess, Armoury, Airmen Mess, MI Room and No. 29 Regiment Wing. Concluding the inspection, the Commander awarded two Certificates of Commendation to the following Airmen for their meritorious contribution to the Station in particular and to the Air Force in general.

In conclusion the Commander addressed all the service personnel at the Station, highlighted the increasing of the Aircraft fleet and conveyed his appreciation for their dedicated service to the nation and SLAF. The Commander concluded the gathering thanking all officers and airmen and encouraged all the servicemen and civilian personnel of the station to maintain standards at the highest level.
