SLAF Station Weerawila successfully concluded a ‘Guwan Mithudam’ community service project on 19 May 2025 at H/Samanpura maha vidyalaya, a mixed school located in a rural area by constructing and handing over a newly built sanitary complex. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe.
    
The school which accommodates a significant number of students from the surrounding community had long term challenges due to insufficient sanitation facilities. The newly constructed sanitary complex including two toilets specifically for school girls was aimed at enhancing the hygiene and wellbeing of the students.

Under the directives of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Weerawila, Group Captain Nalaka Wanasinghe, the project was successfully completed and ceremonially handed over to the school with the participation of the Deputy Principal of H/Samanpura Maha Vidyalaya, members of the Seva Vanitha Committee of SLAF Station Weerawila and several school children.

The coordination and supervision of the entire project were managed by the Seva Vanitha Committee of SLAF Station Weerawila while the Works Section of the station extended their fullest support and dedication to ensure the timely and successful completion of the initiative.
