
SLAF TRIUMPHS WITH TRIPLE GOLD AT NCQP 2025, EARNS SPOT AT ICQCC IN TAIWAN

The SLAF once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by securing ‘three Gold Awards’ at the prestigious ‘National Convention on Quality and Productivity (NCQP) 2025’, hosted by the ‘Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP)'.
The Convention held at Mount Lavinia Hotel, Colombo, on 21 and 22 May 2025 gathered over 440 teams from diverse industries to showcase groundbreaking advancements in quality, productivity, and innovation. Competing in the ‘Quality Control Circle (QCC) and ‘Quality Improvement Project (QIP) categories, all the three teams represented SLAF impressed the panel of judges with their dedication to process optimization, efficient improvements and innovative problem-solving strategies and secured the Gold Awards.
The competition featured intense presentations from industry leaders, highlighting the importance of Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Total Quality Management (TQM) in achieving sustainable business excellence.
The Gold winning Quality Improvement Project (QIP) was submitted by Aircraft Support Wing in SLAF Base Ratmalana while the Gold winning Quality Control Circles (QCC) were submitted by Aircraft Overhaul Wing SLAF Base Katunayake and No 07 Squadron SLAF Base Hingurakgoda.
The QIP team comprised with Group Captain GGSK Guruge, Warrant Officer MG Nuwan, Flight Sergeant Maldeniya MGDS, while the two QCC teams comprised with Squadron Leader SG Atalugama, Sergeant Warnakulasooriya DM, Corporal Karunarathna AMTKC and Flying Officer TDVM Sirisena, Flight Sergeant Anushka Kumara SMD , Corporal Weerakkody WGSE respectively.
Adding to the excitement, the winning teams have earned a prestigious opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan, alongside global participants from 14 countries across Asia.
