Domestic Violence Awareness Program

An awareness programme on “Domestic Violence and Mental Health Psychiatry” was conducted at Katunayake recently for the benefit of the families of servicemen and for the airwomen living at Katunayake Base and SLAF Ekala.
A one day workshop was conducted by the organization “Women In Need” under the topic Domestic Violence and Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Nirosha Mendis spoke to those present on the topic ‘Mental Health Psychiatry’.
This programme which is part of a series of programmes held across SLAF establishments island-wide is a concept of the chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. It promotes awareness amongst women serving or affiliated to the SLAF.
The Chairperson of the SLAF SVU Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama and Mrs. Renuka Gurusinghe the President of the Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Base Katunayake were present at this workshop.
