The Change of Command at the Aircraft Engineering Wing (AEW), SLAF Base Katunayake was held  yesterday  (29 May 2025). The traditional Handing Over / Taking Over parade took place at the Wing premises where the outgoing Commanding Officer Air Commodore MF Jansen USP, BSc (Def Stu), AMIE (SL), A Eng, Z handed over the command to Air Commodore WADC Wijesinghe USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), AMIE (SL), A Eng, psc. 

Air Commodore Jansen will be proceeding to Air Force Headquarters, where he will be assuming duties as the  Director Quality Assurance.

The new Commanding Officer, Air Commodore Wijesinghe, has assumed duties as the Acting Commanding Officer Aircraft Engineering Wing (AEW), in addition to his existing role as the Commanding Officer of the Aircraft Overhaul Wing (AOW).
