SLAF INTERNAL AFFAIRS UNIT CONVENES SECOND QUARTER MEETING TO REINFORCE INTEGRITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
The SLAF Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) convened the periodic meeting for the second quarter of 2025 at Air Force Headquarters on today (01 July 2025), under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe.
The agenda of the meeting included a comprehensive review of the IAU’s strategic framework which included vision, core objectives and progress in implementing the annual action plan. The Head of the IAU, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva led detailed discussions on the execution of this plan, which has been developed in coordination with the Presidential Secretariat and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
Key focus areas included the implementation of the Citizen’s Charter, strict enforcement of the Code of Conduct and the systematic rollout of the Institutional Risk Assessment Plan, which are essential components of the broader national strategy to combat corruption.
The Commander of the Air Force provided clear guidance and strategic direction, emphasizing the critical role of the IAU in maintaining public confidence and reinforcing national security.
The meeting was attended by members of the Air Force Board of Management, appointed IAU officers of the SLAF and nominated representatives from various directorates, divisions and sections of Air Force Headquarters.
