The Handing Over / Taking Over Parade to mark the Change of Command at SLAF Station Batticaloa was held yesterday (01 July 2025) at the Station Parade Square. The event followed customary proceedings, during which the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain KHMSS Bandara RSP, USP, Pg Dip (Def Mgt), ceremonially handed over command to Group Captain RPDM Ranrajeewana RWP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MSc (DAMM), psc, who assumed duties as the new Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Batticaloa.

Group Captain Bandara will take over duties as the Commanding Officer of the Welfare Project Unit at SLAF Base Rathmalana. Prior to this appointment, Group Captain Ranrajeewana served as the Academic Coordinator at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSC&SC).
