RSF WING CELEBRATES 22ND ANNIVERSARY

Regiment Special Forces (RSF) Wing at SLAF Station Morawewa celebrated 22nd anniversary yesterday (07 July 2025). The RSF Wing was established as an integral special unit of the SLAF Regiment and it takes up a wide variety of operations, including Air Base Defence and Rescue (ABDR) Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR), Search and Rescue (SAR) Operations, Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Operations, Special Combat Operations, Air Rapid Raid Operations and conducting specialized training.

The formation day celebrations commenced with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the acting Commanding Officer Regiment Special Force Wing, Squadron Leader Anjula Mahamadachchige. The Commanding Officer expressed his gratitude to all officers and airmen, including past Commanding Officers, other officers, and all ranks who contributed to the development of the RSF Wing since its inception, and extended his appreciation and greetings to the current servicemen for their dedication and ongoing commitment.

The formation day was marked with a Shramadana campaign and a donation of essential educational items to the ‘Revatha Children's Development Centre’ at Trincomalee with the participation of Commanding Officer SLAF Station Morawewa, Group Captain Prabath Alexander, all officers and other rankers of the Wing. The day's proceedings were concluded with a religious programme at the evening, which was organized at the Regiment Special Forces with the participation of all personnel of the SLAF Station Morawewa.


Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
