COMMANDER’S INSPECTION AT SLAF BASE ANURADHAPURA
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Base Anuradhapura today (11 July 2025). Upon his arrival, he was received by the Base Commander, Air Commodore Poojana Gunathilake.
The Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade, which was led by the Base Commander. During the parade, certificates of commendation were awarded to the following servicemen.

Flight Sergeant Deshapriya HGS (Air Frame Special I)
Flight Sergeant Madusanka BGM (Ground Steward I)
Sergeant Jayarathne SRSK (Log Assistant Special I)
Civil GUO Mendis (Watchman)
During the inspection, the Commander visited all areas of the base, including the Base Headquarters, No. 6 Squadron, No. 21 Regiment Wing, No. 33 Land-Based Air Defence Wing, Supply Section, Air Movement Squadron, and the Eagles Heritage Golf Club. Additionally, the Commander officially inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Singithi Sewana’ Day Care Centre, a facility introduced to enhance the base's welfare services.
Following the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks and civilian personnel at the No. 6 Squadron Hangar. He commended them for their dedication to the Sri Lanka Air Force and encouraged them to continue striving for higher standards of discipline and performance. Emphasizing the importance of self-discipline and professionalism, he reminded them that the reputation of the Air Force and the fulfillment of its responsibilities toward national development rest on the commitment of every member.
