SLAF IAU HOSTS ANTI-CORRUPTION AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) of the SLAF successfully concluded a periodic meeting and awareness programme today (18 July 2025) in collaboration with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), as part of its annual programme under the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP).
The event was well-attended by representatives from all IAU units across the SLAF. Proceedings commenced with opening remarks delivered by the Head of the SLAF IAU, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, who set the tone for the meeting and the awareness session conducted in collaboration with CIABOC.
The session featured a comprehensive review of the Annual Action Plan and its progress, presented by the SLAF Integrity Officer. Key focus areas included the implementation of the Citizen’s Charter, enforcement of the Code of Conduct and execution of the Institutional Risk Assessment Plan, each aligning with the broader objectives of the national anti-corruption framework.
The awareness session led by the Assistant Director General of CIABOC, Ms. Thanuja Bandara and the Senior Lecturer, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Mr. Tharindu Dananjaya Weerasinghe. The session concluded with an engaging and informative Q&A segment, allowing participants to clarify queries and further their understanding of anti-corruption principles and practices.
