SLAF Colombo Pre-School Annual Sports Meet - 2011

The Sri Lanka Air Force Pre-School Colombo, held its annual sports meet on 12th July 2011 at the Rifle Green Grounds, Colombo.
Hoisting of the National Flag and the traditional lighting of the oil lamp started the proceedings for the day. A lot of children’s games and fun activities were organized to give them a day full of enjoyment. The Kids band display took the attention of the personnel who witnessed the sports meet. An air dog's show was also conducted for the children's entertainment.
The establishment of pre-schools on international standards in Air Force establishments located around the country was a concept introduced by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. This indeed generates immense value, as it eases the burden of providing quality early education for children of personnel serving in the SLAF as well as for the children of people living in the vicinity of SLAF establishments.
The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes and gifts among the children whilst the Commanding Officer of SLAF-Colombo Air Commodore Vijitha Gunaratna was also present at the event.
The wonderful thanking speech given by the students mark the termination points for the fun filled day.
