COMMANDER'S INSPECTION OF SLAF STATION PALAVI
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe conducted the Commander's Inspection of SLAF Station Palavi today (06 September 2025). Upon his arrival, the Commanding Officer of the Station, Air Commodore Nishantha Priyadarshana, formally welcomed the Commander.
During the guard of honor, the Commander awarded Certificates of Commendation to the following personnel in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the Station and the Air Force.
Flight Sergeant Premasiri Kumara KADC (Air Force Health Instructor)
Corporal Premadasa RDPT (Operations Ground)
Further, the Commander visited and inspected the No.38 Regiment Wing, EODTS, No.05 ADRS, Surface Treatment Plant (STP), which has been established to support the electroplating processes for overhauling aircraft components at the Aircraft Overhaul Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake and all the sections of the station.
In conclusion, the Commander commended the Commanding Officer and his team for their diligent efforts in preparing the Station to meet the high standards expected at a Commander’s Inspection. He addressed all personnel, including civilian staff, acknowledging their hard work and dedication
