The SLAF successfully carried out a long-range medical evacuation today (07 September 2025) from a merchant vessel located approximately 102 km off the southern coast.

The mission was conducted using a Bell 412 helicopter belonging to No. 4 Squadron of SLAF Base Ratmalana. Upon receiving information about a medical emergency onboard, the SLAF deployed the helicopter to airlift the patient and ensure timely medical attention.

The patient was safely transferred and handed over to medical authorities for further treatment.
